  • WHAT MBAPPE SAID

The Frenchman had announced recently the passing of his uncle Alex in a post on Instagram, posting: "Rest in peace Uncle Alex. It's hard to find the words to say how much you left us too soon and will be missed.

"Life will never be the same without you. Your family will be taken care of, you can be sure of that. May God open the doors of heaven for you."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Didier Deschamps' men showed some rustiness in the first half hour of their clash against a rather light-weight Luxembourg. However, Kolo Muani's goal allowed them to take total control of the game as they went on to dominate and cruised to victory. Mbappe started the match and played the entire 90 minutes and was behind France's first two goals as well, assisting Kolo Muani and Clauss, but could have done a lot more as he missed multiple chances in front of goal.
